Apple Watch Series 8 is expected to come with this new sensor if it successfully passes the internal testing phase. In addition, Gurman says the feature could also be present in the “rugged model” Apple Watch for athletes, which is also expected to launch this year alongside the Apple Watch Series 8.

According to the official statement, “You can expect some new health-tracking features in this year’s Apple Watch. In April, I reported that Apple is aiming to add body-temperature detection to its Series 8 models. Assuming that capability is a must during internal testing. I now believe the feature holds for both the standard Apple Watch Series 8 and a new Rugged version aimed at extreme sports athletes.”

an earlier report by wall street journal suggests that the said body temperature sensor could also be used to monitor fertility. It is likely to detect changes in body temperature that occur when a person is pregnant or nearing their period.

In terms of other features, the Apple Watch Series 8 is expected to get a faster chip and better activity tracking features, including sleep tracking that can detect advanced sleep patterns and sleep apnea. In terms of design, the smartwatch may not see any major design update in terms of size as well. Also, previous reports have suggested that the Watch Series 8 will get a car crash detection feature.

As for the design, the smartwatch is expected to come with a flat front glass display and there is no clear information about what the overall design might look like.

The Apple Watch Series 8 is likely to detect fever with a new in-built sensor that first appeared on BGR India.
