Along with the launch of iPhone 14 a few weeks back, Apple also released its latest iOS 16 software. As with the first few versions of an operating system, iOS 16 also had some bugs, but Apple is slowly fixing them. A new iOS 16.0.3 update is now available for eligible iPhone models, bringing additional bug fixes and improvements to the display of notifications. While these not-so-major updates are important to ensure a better iPhone experience, Apple has also improved the camera speed for the iPhone 14 Pro model.
Apple has mentioned the update log on its website for the iOS 16.0. If your iPhone is supported by the new update, the Software Update section will show these changes:
- Incoming calls and app notifications may be delayed or not delivered on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
- CarPlay on iPhone 14 models can cause low microphone volume during phone calls.
- The camera can be slow to launch or switch between modes on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
- Mail crashes upon launch after receiving a malformed email.
While the new update fixes some bugs and boosts the camera speed on the Pro model, it is unclear whether it also fixes the high battery consumption issue on the iPhone models updated to iOS 16. Several users have reported that their iPhone battery life has deteriorated. Updating to iOS 16. The most affected are iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro users. If the new iOS 16.0.3 update doesn’t bring an improvement in battery life, there’s nothing users can do but expect them to come with the next update.
The new update comes days after Apple released iOS 16.0.2 for new iPhones to fix the copy-paste problem as well as the vibrating glitch when taking videos. It is also a precursor to the iOS 16.1 update that Apple is currently testing. iOS 16.1 will be the next big update for this cycle, expected to bring features like battery percentage indicator which changes according to battery level instead of remaining idle. The next update will also bring the updated battery percentage indicator to the remaining iPhone models like iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 11 and iPhone XR.
