Apple has removed a popular dating app from the App Store for spreading misinformation about the coronavirus vaccine. Unconventional, a new social media dating app, has been banned from the App Store. However, the app is still available for download on the Google Play Store.
Apple has a much stricter security and security review system for the App Store than the Google Play Store. Citing the reason behind the ban on dating apps, Apple said Unzipped had been removed from the App Store for violating the policy and spreading misinformation about the Covid-1 vaccine.
The dating app was launched in May earlier this year. The social media dating app was created by two women for “Sammana, Kovid obsolete”. The app claims that it is a ‘safe place’ for unsafe Americans who want to meet and meet like-minded people online.
Why did Apple ban dating apps?
The obsolete dating app was initially cleared by the App Store but after some recent updates, the technology giant decided to ban it. Apple had previously warned the platform, “If you try to cheat our system, your apps will be removed from the store.”
With the latest update, Unjected has added a new feature that allows more general posting. The feature was even identified by Google and the app moderators were accused of not taking action to stop misinformation about the Kovid-1 vaccine. Commenting on the ban from the Apple App Store, the unpublished app developer said, “Obviously, we’re considered ‘too much’ to share our medical autonomy and freedom of choice.”
Over the past few months, the U.S. government has been urging social media apps to encourage users to get vaccinated. Recently, the White House asked for various dating apps, including Tinder, Match, and Bumble, to encourage users to get vaccinated against Covid-1 against, but the opposite went in the opposite direction. The obsolete dating app goes against the government and allows vaccinated people to meet each other.
