After Zomato, Swiggy and Blinkit, Reliance JioMart is all set to enter the quick delivery segment

Zomato last week announced its entry into the quick delivery segment. The move raised a lot of eyebrows but it seems that the companies are heading towards heavy competition in this segment. Reliance Jio Mart also wants to enter the new instant grocery delivery segment with its new service ‘Jiomart Express’.

Unlike Zomato, this new service will field players like Big Basket, Blinkit, Zepto and Swiggy’s Instamart. according to a report good By ET Tech, Reliance JioMart is going to start the trials for the new service in Navi Mumbai. Under this new service, JioMart will provide an inventory of around 2000 Stock-Keeping Units (SKUs). This means that JioMart stores will have the ability to deliver frequently ordered items under this service.

As per a report in ET Tech, while other players are aiming for an extremely aggressive delivery time frame of 10 minutes, JioMart is aiming to deliver the goods in a few hours.

Reports suggest that JioMart may introduce a separate application for this new JioMart Express service. According to the report, the trial for this is still under process.

A unique advantage that plans to use JioMart is access to grocery. These local stores can also be used as dark stores for the brand’s quick delivery service. Another mutually beneficial relationship would be in the form of logistics. Reliance JioMart will reportedly work with Dunzo in certain areas where the delivery service has a strong user base such as metro cities.

Reliance holds a 26 percent stake in Dunzo and has also led a round of funding in which $240 million has been invested.

While there was no particular demand for such quick delivery services. Most of the e-grocery delivery companies and even food delivery companies like Zomato are preparing for a war that no one demanded. Many users on the Internet have openly criticized the companies for risking the lives of delivery workers.

It remains to be seen how Reliance JioMart will tackle this issue as well as create better value for the customers. JioMart is expected to make an official announcement soon.

After Zomato, Swiggy and Blinkit, Reliance JioMart is all set to enter the quick delivery segment, which first appeared on BGR India.
