After Zomato, Ola launches 10-minute food delivery service in India; Swiggy also in line

Ola has started testing 10-minute food delivery service in India. The company has started offering select food items like pizza, rolls and khichdi as part of the menu. Ola describes these food items as ‘freshly prepared’ and is using its grocery delivery wing Ola Dash to deliver these items.

According to a report in The Economic Times, Ola will leverage the services offered by robotics startup Mukund Foods. Interestingly, the announcement comes less than a month after Zomato invested $5 million in Mukunda Foods for a 16.66% stake in the company.

It is worth noting that Mukund Foods caters to top cloud kitchens and eateries. It is also expected to play a key role in the company’s 10-minute food delivery service Zomato Instant.
Ola, in a statement to the publication, confirmed that it has been testing its 10-minute meal delivery service in Bengaluru for some time now.

That said, Ola isn’t the only company hoping to expand its horizons. The report states that Swiggy is also planning to launch fast food delivery service in India soon. However, it is not clear whether it is planning to launch a 10-minute meal-delivery service. The report also said that Swiggy is also in talks with Mukund Foods for its robotic devices, which automate food preparation and cut cooking times for Indian and Chinese cuisines by about 20 to 50%. does less.
This development comes soon after Zomato recently launched its 10-minute food delivery service. The service caused backlash, which led to Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal explaining on a Twitter thread how the service would work.
